In my last comment on VAT was probably quite glib but the truth is, it is complicated but it can be as simple. The issue is often that the ERP will allow you to do things you are not allowed to do when reflecting on VAT rules and registrations. By that I mean you can create a sales order in one place to another and the system generally speaking will allow you to. It won’t have been configured out of the box to suit your specific registrations or any restrictions that you need to impose.

The rules of VAT are like the one foreign trade relate to. They come from the age of nation states, who have physical borders. We however come from a modern age when it would be easier to to follow other logistically direct processes, irrespective of whether its easier or would be practical to do something more simple. The rule are the rules and you need to find a solution within them rather than try and get around them.

I can help you.
